Amazing van. Amazing Value. VW ID.Buzz Cargo

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo is one of our most popular all-electric business vans. For businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce fuel costs and eliminate charges for entering the growing number of Low Emission Zone (LEZ) springing up in many city centres, the ID.Buzz Cargo is the ideal solution. Plus, its funky good looks will boost your brand presence.

If you’re planning on adding the ID.Buzz Cargo to your fleet, leasing is an ideal option. Being a lease you don’t have to think about what its future residual (used) value will be, so you can just enjoy getting on with the big savings on running costs (especially if you can charge on a domestic wall-mounted charger at your home or workplace).

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo is the commercial version of the ID.Buzz, the all-new all-electric MPV which went on UK sale in 2022 after decades of VW teasing us with concept cars. It retains the groovy vibes of the campervan original, but wrapped up in a great electric MPV package which you can fit all your gear in.

The van with a friendly face

Roll up in an ID.Buzz Cargo (silently, no annoying your customer’s neighbours) and its friendly face should get your business instant cool points and send a powerful sustainability message. While the Cargo model isn’t available in the classic campervan-style two-tone paint but, you can choose from a selection of eyepopping all-over shades such as Lime Yellow or Bay Leaf Green. The most popular Commerce variant, includes a nice range of options including heated seats and Apple CarPlay.

The ID.Buzz Cargo is a proper van with expansive load space (3.9 cubic metres in all) and impressive accessibility with sliding doors on each side – as well as the rear. You can opt for either two or three seats in the front. You can specify a bulkhead with or without a window and choose from loads of racking options. One interesting option is an electrically retractable towbar (should you need it). The charging cables are neatly stowed in a compartment below the floor accessed from the side.

Range? Over 258 miles…

The ID.Buzz Cargo shares the same 204PS electric motor with the Volkswagen ID.4, which is coincidentally rear-mounted just like the original campervan. Under the floor, the 77kWh battery will provide a quoted all-electric driving range of 258 miles, which is extremely competitive in the electric van class. Real-life mileage will depend on load, but that’s still enough for several days of customer visits or deliveries around your locality. Volkswagen says the battery can go from 5% to 80% charged in just 30 minutes on a suitable charger.

At 4.7m long the ID.Buzz Cargo is as easy to drive as a car and isn’t a pain to park (parking sensors are standard). It also has a great turning circle – a huge advantage for inner-city deliveries or manoeuvring busy industrial estates. Like the ID.Buzz it has a single-speed gearbox controlled by a stalk on the steering column, so there are no gears to change, which makes city driving a breeze. To make things even easier, the regenerative braking mode allows the ID.Buzz Cargo to be driven with just one pedal.

Due to the weight of the battery, an unlaiden electric van typically weighs slightly more than an equivalent diesel van, so an electric van’s maximum payload is generally less than an equivalent diesel. That said,  maximum payload of an ID.Buzz Cargo Commerce is still a useful 710kg.

If you’re looking to replace your van or update your fleet, then do your corporate image, and running costs a huge favour with the Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo.
