eFleet: improving the driver experience

The number of drivers stepping into shiny new fleet cars is growing each month.
So far this year, fleet registrations have grown by more than 22% in the first six months of 2024, with overall new car sales hitting the million motors milestone.
So that’s a lot of drivers in a lot of new cars, many of which will be zero emission electric vehicles – certainly that’s the case for Fleet Alliance customers, with the Tesla Model 3 the most popular car, closely followed by its stablemate, the Model Y.
What’s more, the experience those drivers have behind the wheel is generally highly positive.
A report by EVA England found that 91% of EV drivers have no intention of returning to a petrol or diesel car, highlighting extremely strong satisfaction levels once behind the wheel of an electric car.
So far, so good.
But what happens when that shiny new car needs a service? Or a pothole has damaged a tyre which needs replacing?
Step forward the brand new eFleet app for drivers.
The eFleet app is fleet management for drivers all contained on a mobile phone, tablet, or from desktop. The app is personalised for each driver irrespective of the vehicle funder, so it contains all the support information a driver might need for their specific vehicle, as well as allowing company car and electric car salary sacrifice drivers to order a new or replacement vehicle.
This new version of eFleet represents a significant technical upgrade.
Drivers will find a real improvement to the user experience with consistency of appearance across all platforms but with a particular focus on a greatly streamlined mobile interface alongside a heap of little functionality improvements.
“This is one of several upgrades we are making to the eFleet app,” explains Andy Bruce, CEO. “I hope users will notice all the little changes that we have made to improve the driver experience, and there are more upgrades planned in the future.
“Making life as easy as possible for the driver is hugely important. The new wave of electric vehicles coming on to fleets are often like mobile phones on wheels with intuitive interfaces. So it was important that our eFleet driver app kept pace with the market and provided an upgraded driver experience.”
Accessing the new eFleet driver app
Drivers can access the new appearance of the eFleet app and its upgraded user interface by logging onto eFleet here, or by simply clicking login at the top right of the fleet alliance website.
We hope you enjoy the journey!
